graduated from the Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala School of Dentistry in 1977. He
received his postgrauate training in oral pathology, oral medicine and maxillofacial
surgery from the same institution in |
| 1987. Dr. Ponce is a member of Colegio Estomatológico de
Guatemala, Asociación de Cirugía Oral y Maxilofacial de Guatemala, International College
for Oral and Maxilofacial Surgery and the Academy for Sports Dentistry. He serves on the
Comité Olímpico Guatemalteco on both the doping control team and as Secretary of the
Medical Commission. He is on the medical staff of Hospital Bella Aurora and Hospital
Ciudad Vieja in Guatemala. Carlos Ponce is a member of the Sports Medical Commission of
the VII Juegos Deportivos Centroamericanos Guatemala 2001 and Director of its Sports
Dental Commission. Dr. Ponce is a speaker on dental implants and sports dentistry. His
speaking engagements have included the Congress on Sports Medicine, Havana, Cuba, Congress
of Sports Medicine, Guatemala and the Central American Congress of Sports Medicine, San
Pedro Sula, Honduras. |
