Dr. Andreasen received her dental training at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan (1971) and post-graduate degree of doctor of odontology from Copenhagen University (1995). Since 1980, she has been actively involved in dental trauma research, with more than 50 scientific publications, related primarily to pulpal responses to acute injury and restoration of the traumatized dentition. Dr. Andreasen is author of O.Clast & the Bros.Blast, a children's book on first aid after dental trauma (published in English, Danish and Swedish) and co-author of Andreasen & Andreasen Essentials of Traumatic Injuries to the Teeth (published in English, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and Japanese) and Textbook and Color Atlas of Traumatic Injuries to the Teeth (published in English and Japanese). She has served as associate professor in dental traumatology at the Departments of Pediatric Dentistry and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Dental School, Copenhagen University, from 1987 until 1994 and as special consultant in dental trauma for the county and municipal dental care programs in Gothenburg, Sweden, and the Department of Pediatric Dentistry, Dental Faculty, Gothenburg, Sweden from 1994 to 1995. She is presently member of the Association of Dental Insurance Consultants, Denmark, and the International Association of Dental Traumatology. Dr. Andreasen has been the coordinator of several international multi-center clinical studies on the effect of treatment of acute dental trauma. She has lectured to dentists and dental auxiliaries throughout the world on diagnosis and treatment of acute dental trauma and healing complications in the follow-up period. And in 1993, she was the first western dentist to teach at the dental school in St. Petersburg, Russia. She presented an excellent essay on the Danish Insurance System - Private Insurance Program for Danish Citizens before the first World Congress on Sports Dentistry and Dental Traumatology. This was co-sponsored by the International Association of Dental Traumatology and the Academy for Sports Dentistry. "Have slides - will travel."
